2022 Honda CB1100X Review, Price, Release date, EX, Accessories

Honda is the world’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer that, we thought, covers pretty much every segment of the industry. Apparently, Honda’s management doesn’t think that way and as a result, new models are coming every year. The 2022 Honda CB1100X is definitely one of the most anticipated bikes in the last several years. With this model, the Japanese model want’s to bring closer two different words of motorcycling – those street-focused and those, adventurous. Will it make it, time will tell.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little bit longer than planned. The Japanese manufacturer delayed the launch, due to the Coronavirus outbreak. According to the latest reports, the new model will come sometime in the next year, though a more precise date is still unknown.

2022 Honda CB1100X: What are the Expectations?

As we’ve just mentioned, the all-new 2022 Honda CB1100X will be a little bit of two worlds. Of course, the CB badge clearly indicates that we are talking about a sports bike, mostly focused on the street. However, the “X” letter in its name says that it has something with adventure and that’s completely true because the new model will borrow a lot of parts from the legendary Honda Africa.

The 2022 Honda CB1100X will come with plenty of interesting design solutions. Of course, its bold and aggressive styling is the first thing that comes to mind, but we are also very interested in things that are under the skin. This particularly refers to the engine, which will be the same twin-cylinder unit that powers Africa.

Also, we expect Honda to implement all kinds of latest technologies, whether it’s about mechanics and electronics. Naturally, we also count on lots of latest tech features, including even things like smartphone integration and advanced safety features.

2022 Honda CB1100X Engine

Without any doubt, the engine is one of the most interesting things about the 2022 Honda CB1100X. Normally, we would expect to see a four-cylinder unit in a bike with this name, but things are a little bit different in this case. Instead, we are about to see the famous parallel-twin design, the same engine that powers legendary Africa.

We are talking about the well-known 1084 cc four-stroke parallel-twin engine, which puts out around 100 horsepower. Besides plenty of power and torque, the engine is also characterized by a lot of interesting engineering solutions. Of course, one of the first things that come to mind is the compact Unicam® engine design, which makes it compact and perfect for displacement in all kinds of variations. In this case, it will provide a lower center of gravity, which will have a significant impact on stability and overall performance.

Among other interesting design solutions, we also expect to see things like dual intake, as well as a dual-catalyzer exhaust, the same one that can be found in the CBR1000RR superbike, with the muffler-valve technology that has a big impact on reducing emissions.

When it comes to transmission, we presume that the well-known and proven six-speed manual will be standard, while many believe that the company could also offer a version with a DCT unit.

2022 Honda CB1100X Design

Design-wise, the most notable thing about the 2022 Honda CB1100X is its styling. We’ve already seen a couple of rendering photos and all of them show the same thing – a bold and aggressive look. The new model looks pretty futuristic but what’s more intriguing to us are some other design details, such as riding position, for example. In this aspect, the new model looks pretty similar to Africa and offers a pretty upright position, in a typical endure fashion.

We presume that most of the chassis will be shared with the famous adventure bike, and that may even include some same dimensions, such as the wheelbase, which would go around 62 inches. Of course, other dimensions would be different, just like the suspension setup. The latter would be more refined and less rugged, in order to offer more engaging on-road handling. Naturally, we count on hydraulic brakes on both wheels.

Comfort and Convenience

We already talked about the seating position, which should be pretty upright and offer a high level of comfort. Also, we count on a lot of other convenience features. For example, the instrument cluster should be completely digital, designed in a similar fashion as the one found in Africa. Also, we expect that the new model will offer all kinds of connectivity features. An Apple CarPlay seems like a certain thing, while Android Auto could be on offer as well.

Release Date and Price

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2022 Honda CB1100X will probably hit the market sometime in the next year, though the officials are still quiet about the exact launch date. When it comes to the price, we estimate that base versions will go around $15.000, roughly.
