2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp Review, Rumors, Features, Specs

It’s no secret that many riders around the world are missing the legendary TransAlp nameplate so badly. The famous middle-weight dual-sport bike was introduced back in 1987 and it is one of the best-known nameplates in the company’s portfolio. Known for its excellent balance between power and maneuverability, this model has always been a great smaller alternative to legendary Africa. The new model shouldn’t be an exception and from what we know so far, it will probably come as the 2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp. The officials are still quiet on this matter, so make sure to take the following paragraphs with a reserve.

Probably the biggest indicator of TransAlp’s comeback is the fact that the name has been trademarked in numerous countries around the world. Also, keep in mind that the Japanese manufacturer is in the final phase of the development of the all-new parallel-twin engine, which has always been one of TransAlp’s trademarks. If we can trust rumors, the all-new model could arrive already in the next year.

2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp Design

As we already mentioned, one of the biggest indicators is the fact that Honda is developing a completely new engine. Along with the engine, the Japanese manufacturer works on a completely new platform. It will underpin several middle-weight modes in the future. The new platform will be used not just for the new 2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp, but for the new Hornet as well, which is also about to come back, according to rumors.

In any case, the 2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp will feature a completely new design but the overall layout won’t be significantly different compared to the previous generations. In other words, we are talking about a genuine dual-sport design, which will make this bike extremely versatile. Of course, it will offer respectable off-road performances, but it should be really strong on the road as well. Naturally, it will be street-legal, equipped with everything you need to ride on the road anywhere in the world.

2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp Engine

Of course, the core of this motorcycle will be its engine. From what we know so far, Honda has developed a completely new, 750 cc-class engine, with 755 cc in displacement. Of course, the engine’s design is typical for the segment, which means a parallel-twin layout. Honda has always been a real master in designing parallel-twin engines, so we have no doubt that the new unit will be capable and super-reliable as well.

Such a displacement will put the 2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp below the Africa, which has always been the case. This means that Honda will once again have a very capable dual-sport bike in the middle-weight segment. More details about the engine will come in the future and from what we know so far, the new unit will probably power the new Hornet as well.

Features

If it arrives, we do not doubt that the new 2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp will be equipped with a full load of features. This will make it capable to provide a convenient ride across the whole world. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is suspension. Naturally, a long-travel setup at the front, along with ProLink suspension on the rear end is what comes to our minds. Naturally, disc brakes will be installed on both wheels.

Narrow seat design, in a similar fashion as the one on Africa is something we also expect to see pretty athletic riding position, which will ensure easy movement in all directions. Of course, large capacity fuel tanks are also a certain thing, which will provide respectable autonomy.

A full load of convenience features is also about to, starting from a large LCD instrument cluster. Just like in Africa, we could see goodies like smartphone integration and similar things.

Hornet Comeback Rumors

The fact that the Japanese company is developing a completely new platform based on this parallel-twin engine clearly indicates that there is more to come. If we can trust rumors, another big comeback is about to happen. Another nameplate that has been trademarked is the famous Hornet name. The standard motorcycle used inline-four engines in the past. However, the new one will probably use the new parallel twin, which would provide a little bit different character. The new model would probably come as the CB750S, though this is still nothing more than speculation. We expect that the officials will announce something in the near future.

2023 Honda XL750L TransAlp

At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials, so make sure that to take this article with a big reserve. If you want to trust rumors, the new 2023 Honda XL750L will arrive already in the second half of 2022. We estimate that the base price would go somewhere around 10.000 dollars, roughly.
