Honda and its luxury brand are going toward electrification and besides the already-confirmed ZRX, the luxury division allegedly works on another one model. That one could come as the 2024 Acura ADX and from what we can hear, this will be a smaller crossover, probably subcompact in terms of dimensions. At this point, the officials are still quiet, so make sure to take the following paragraphs with reserve.
According to the latest reports, Acura is working on an entry-level all-electric crossover. The new model will be slotted below the ZDX but it will share a lot of parts. It will also come based on GM’s Ultium battery technology, which will ensure advanced technical solutions regarding the battery, along with capable electric motors.
2024 Acura ADX Design
As we already mentioned, the new 2024 Acura ADX will be a crossover, smaller than the ZDX. At this point, we don’t have many details, but it is expected that the new model will feature similar proportions to the new generation of Honda HR-V. When it comes to aesthetics, we expect to see similarities with the bigger sibling, but there’s no doubt that the new model will come with some exclusive aesthetical details as well.
In terms of mechanics, things will be pretty familiar. The new model will be based on GM’s BEV3 platform, designed for electric vehicles on purpose. That platform would ensure the implementation of the latest tech solutions, including 800-volt battery technology.
Interior
At this point, it’s still early to talk about interior details. Still, we presume that the new interior will bring a few futuristic design elements, along with Acura’s typical design solutions. Such a combination should make this electric crossover pretty appealing, while we have no doubt that the new model will also come loaded with all kinds of tech and convenience features.
As we already mentioned, the new model should feature a similar size to the new Honda HR-V. Therefore, we may expect to see a similar amount of space. However, the wheelbase could be a little bit longer, so we could see more legroom as well. The battery will be positioned under the floor, so it won’t affect passenger space. On the other hand, it will probably affect the cargo area.
2024 Acura ADX Drivetrain, Battery, Range
At this point, the only thing we can do is speculate. As we already mentioned, this crossover will feature GM’s Ultium battery technology, which supports battery capacities between 50 and 200 kW. We presume that this crossover will be equipped with a pack that would ensure at least 250 miles on a single charge, while higher trim levels could possibly come with the autonomy of 300 miles.
When it comes to charging, the Ultium technology supports up to 300 kW of charging speed, so there is no doubt that the DC fast charge will be very quick and capable, though we won’t talk numbers at this point.
When it comes to the drivetrain, base models will probably come with a single electric motor, mounted on the front axle. We could easily see GM’s familiar unit, which puts out around 240 horsepower. We could also see an AWD version, which would feature an additional electric motor on the rear end and probably a max output of 340 horsepower.
2024 Acura ADX Release Date
The 2024 Acura ADX is still waiting for official confirmation, so take these paragraphs with reserve. On the other hand, rumors suggest that the new EV SUV could arrive already in the second half of 2023.
