The current generation of Acura’s luxury sedan has been around for a few years and it looks like the company already prepares some updates. Allegedly, the 2024 Acura TLX is about to receive some changes and they probably won’t be in terms of the styling. Instead, the company will make certain mechanical modifications, or we could say some fine-tuning, in order to make this engaging sedan an even better performer.
On the other hand, the overall layout will probably remain untouched. The 2024 Acura TLX will continue with a familiar styling, which still looks pretty fresh and attractive. Furthermore, the cabin looks really nice, while the ride is very comfortable. Finally, there is a choice of two potent engines, which are both very powerful, very refined and decently efficient.
We expect that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2023, despite the updates.
2024 Acura TLX Design
The 2024 Acura TLX will represent the fourth production year of the current generation and it looks like we are about to see some updates. However, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer won’t be making any styling changes, which would most of us probably expect. Instead, the styling will remain the same, which isn’t an issue at all, considering that the current model already looks pretty fresh and attractive.
On the other hand, it looks like the company could make some mechanical upgrades, in order to improve performance. This probably doesn’t refer to suspension setup, as the current model already offers nimble handling and a smooth ride at the same time. On the other hand, some sources suggest a revision to the transmission, which is currently one of the rare weak points of this otherwise great performer.
Namely, the current 10-speed transmission generally works well but the trouble starts when you switch to manual mode, where shifts start to become too slow by today’s standards. Many expect to see improvement in this aspect.
Interior
On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger changes on the inside. The current cabin looks really nice in all aspects. It is attractive and features really nice materials. Furthermore, the attention to detail is great, as well as the overall build quality. Also, the amount of tech features is pretty generous, which makes the cabin look even more upscale.
Typically for Honda and Acura models, the driving position is excellent. The front seats are spacious and well-shaped, so taller passengers can enjoy a comfortable ride as well. On the other hand, the rear seats would use a little bit more space, though we can’t say that two average adults can’t fit comfortably. The cargo area offers around 13.5 cubic feet of space, which is about average for the class.
Features
It’s always possible to see a couple of novelties regarding the standard and available equipment but we expect most things to remain the same as in the current model. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like a 10.2-inch display, a touchpad controller, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 10-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, dual-zone climate control, keyless, moonroof etc. Among upgrades, you can find a remote start, navigation, two additional USB ports, 13- and 17-speaker stereos, and wireless device charging.
The same thing is with safety features. So, base models should come standard with features like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, forward automatic, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road sign recognition, automatic high beams etc. The list of options includes front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, surround-view camera, head-up display, rain-sensing windshield wipers etc.
2024 Acura TLX Engines
As we already mentioned, the 2024 Acura TLX might come with some upgrades on the transmission. On the other hand, the engine lineup should remain the same. Therefore, you may count on two familiar powertrain options. Base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 272 horsepower. The engine offers great driving dynamics, along with decent fuel economy that goes around 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
There is also the high-performance Type S model, which features a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine, which is good for about 355 horsepower and offers notably better performance. However, it also consumes more gasoline, so you may count on about 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
2024 Acura TLX Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2024 Acura TLX sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 39.000 dollars.
