Honda’s well-known hybrid is getting close to the end of its production cycle and we are eagerly waiting to see the replacement. According to the latest reports, the Japanese manufacturer will replace this model with a hybrid version of the Honda Civic, which will debut soon. However, the latest reports also suggest that the company will keep the Insight nameplate in some markets. So, the new generation will arrive in the next year, as the 2024 Honda Insight Hybrid.
The all-new 2024 Honda Insight Hybrid will be pretty much a rebranded Civic, with a hybrid powertrain. The overall design should be pretty much the same, both outside and on the inside, though we won’t be surprised if we see a couple of exlusive details. The main strength of the new mode should be a good combination of efficiency and nice driving experience, along with quality interior, lots of standard equipment etc.
2024 Honda Insight Hybrid Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Honda Insight Hybrid should be pretty much a rebadged version of the new Civic Hybrid in some markets. Therefore, we don’t expect to see any surprises. The overall design will be pretty much the same as in the 11th-generation Civic, which means that you may expect a well-designed compact car that offers engaging handling, a comfortable ride and a pretty good overall driving experience.
The styling should be pretty much the same, though it’s still hard to say if the new model is going to come in both body styles or just one. Namely, the new Civic is available either as a hatchback or as a sedan.
Interior
The same thing is with the interior design, which shouldn’t bring any bigger difference. That’s definitely a great thing because we are really amazed with the new dashboard design of the 11th-generation Civic, which offers very stylish aesthetics, fine materials and a pretty good build quality. Also, there is a pretty generous amount of tech features, which makes everything look even more upscale.
Of course, the amount of passenger space should also be pretty much the same, which means that you may count on two very spacious rows of seats that accommodate adults with ease. The cargo area should also be pretty generous with space, with around 15 cubic feet behind the second row.
Features
As we already mentioned, we also expect to see a pretty generous amount of standard equipment. Base models should come standard with goodies like automatic climate control, a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a four-speaker stereo. The list of available upgrades should also be pretty generous, with goodies like a 9-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, an additional front USB port, two rear USB ports, navigation, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, satellite radio, HD Radio, voice recognition, an eight-speaker stereo, a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo, proximity keyless entry, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a moonroof, a universal garage door opener, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
When it comes to safety features, base models should come standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams etc.
2024 Honda Insight Hybrid Powertrain
The main upgrade over the outgoing generation will be in terms of the new powertrain. Compared to the current unit, the new system will be more powerful, while reports also suggest better fuel economy. The new system will be based on a 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine, which will come in a combination with two electric motors.
The combined max output should go around 180 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, which should ensure pretty good overall performance. Some sources also claim that the new model will also be more efficient than the current one, which returns up to 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway.
2024 Honda Insight Hybrid Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Honda Insight Hybrid will arrive sometime in the second half of 2023, with a starting price of around 27.000.
