2023 Honda Passport

2024 Honda Passport Preview, Redesign, Changes, Price, Hybrid

Among two-row mid-size SUVs, the Passport stands out as one of the most practical and more refined options on the market. Therefore, we were so glad to see the 2022 model with nice visual updates, which made it look more attractive than before. The same update also indicates that we won’t be seeing bigger changes in the near future. According to some reports, the 2024 Honda Passport will be the final production year of the generation, so it probably won’t bring any notable updates.

That said, we know what to expect from the upcoming Passport. It will continue to deliver lots of passenger and cargo space, in a combination with lots of standard and available features. Of course, we like this Honda because of its refined and pretty capable engine, while the handling feels pretty engaging, considering the model’s size and weight. On the other hand, the main complaints go to the high starting price.

2024 Honda Passport Design

Design-wise, the 2024 Honda Passport will carry on in the same way. It will continue with all the updates that were introduced with the 2022 model year, which brought new styling, particularly at the front. The recent update also brought a new version called TrailSport, which comes with lots of exclusive styling details, including a different grille pattern, new bumpers and more. We believe that the upcoming model could only bring minor updates, such as new color options and similar things.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle didn’t change much and it won’t until the full redesign. This SUV has a lot of things in common with the Pilot but still offers a little bit more engaging handling. It is easy to drive and offers decent maneuverability, considering the size. However, some customers said that the ride can be firm on rough terrains.

Interior

Typically for a Honda, the interior quality is pretty good. It features quality materials, while everything feels assembled pretty well. Also typically for a Honda, the dashboard design feels a little bit to simplistic, which may be found as a drawback, especially among the younger generation, who highly appreciate all those fancy tech features. On the other hand, no one can deny Passport’s excellent ergonomics and driving position.

With 111 inches in wheelbase, the Passport is long enough to provide plenty of legroom in both rows of seats. Both rows accommodate adults with ease, while the front seats are also well-shaped and provide a high level of comfort and side support. The cargo area is good for about 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 77.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. These are some of the best results among mid-size two-row SUVs.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible, so the 2024 Honda Passport could also bring a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment. Still, most things should remain the same. Base models should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless device charging, HD Radio, satellite radio, a seven-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, three USB ports, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, and a moonroof. The list of options should include goodies like ambient lighting, a 120V power outlet, navigation, a 10-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

When it comes to safety features, Honda will continue to offer pretty much all of its features as a part of standard equipment. So, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, rear-seat reminder, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control etc.

2024 Honda Passport Engine

Under the hood, the 2024 Honda Passport will continue in the same way, with the good-old V6 engine. Of course, we are talking about the 3.5-liter unit, which puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Driving dynamics are pretty good but what we like most about this engine is the level of refinement and the fact that it really likes to rev high. The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a good job, though it can hesitate with downshifts sometimes.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, which is quite typical for the segment. The max towing capacity is 5.000 pounds.

2024 Honda Passport Release Date and Price

The 2024 Honda Passport probably won’t feature bigger changes, so we will probably see it sometime in the last quarter of the year. The starting price should go around 38.000 dollars, while models like Nissan Murano, Chevy Blazer and Hyundai Santa Fe will remain key competitors.
