A few months ago, Acura resurrected the legendary nameplate after so many years of waiting. Initially, the company introduced a standard version only and critics were divided. While the new model undoubtedly offers great handling and an engaging ride, it looks like people were expecting more, which seems natural if we consider the iconic status of the initial model. However, the new Integra is yet to show its full potential, so we are eagerly waiting to see the 2024 Acura Integra, which will represent the second production year of the revived nameplate.
Big novelties are expected for the second production year. Besides the standard version, the company will also offer a high-performance variant. Of course, this version will come with the Type S badge and we count on all kinds of upgrades, starting from way more power, upgraded chassis, styling enhancements etc.
The new Type S will probably arrive some time in the second half of 2023, while the standard 2024 Acura Integra should arrive about the same time.
2024 Acura Integra Design
Design-wise, the 2024 Acura Integra will carry on in the same way, which is logical if we consider that it will represent the second production year. So, we are about to see a Civic-based hatchback, which is designed to provide an engaging driving experience, as well as a pretty decent level of luxury and refinement.
On the other hand, the big novelty will come in the form of the new 2024 Acura Integra Type S. This version will come with all kinds of upgrades. Besides a more powerful engine, we will see all kinds of chassis upgrades, starting from the stiffer suspension, upgraded brakes, bigger wheels and performance tires. Of course, there’s no doubt that this version will also bring all kinds of new styling details, which will accentuate the model’s performance character.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, things will certainly remain the same. The 2024 Acura Integra will continue with a pretty nice cabin design, which offers great build quality and pretty fine materials, although we can’t say that it looks as upscale as German rivals, for example. On the other hand, it is very spacious and comfortable, which is no wonder considering the exterior dimension. Also, you may count on a pretty impressive cargo area, which offers around 24.5 cubic feet behind the second row, which is pretty impressive for this class of vehicles.
Naturally, the new Type S would come with several upgrades. Some of the things that come to mind are new color schemes, new materials, new seats, instrument cluster etc. Also, we presume that this version would come equipped with more features than the standard model.
Features
Speaking of the standard equipment, we’ve just mentioned that the new Type S will come with more features than the base versions. At this point, we don’t know the details. On the other hand, standard models will probably continue in the same way. So, the list of standard equipment should include goodies like a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a USB port, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, moonroof etc.
Among available features, expect to find goodies like dual-zone climate control, a 9-inch touch screen, a 16-speaker premium stereo, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, HD Radio, three charge-only USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot and wireless device charging.
Just like the current model, the 2024 Integra will also come fully loaded with standard safety features. Some of the highlights will be goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, traffic-sign recognition etc.
2024 Acura Integra Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, standard models will continue with the same 1.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 200 horsepower, which is enough to provide more than adequate performance. Base versions come with a CVT and paddle shifters, while the manual gearbox is available and definitely the one to go with. The average fuel economy goes around 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway with CVT, while models with manual gearbox return around 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
The new 2024 Acura Integra Type S is expected to feature the same 2.0-liter turbo-four as the Civic Type R. So, you may expect a max output of around 320 horsepower and the excellent 6-speed manual as the only transmission choice.
