2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan Review, Interior, Release date, Price

The new generation of Honda’s iconic compact car is here and once again, the Japanese manufacturer has the best model in class. After the launch of standard versions, it’s time for those sportier ones. Of course, one of the names that come to mind is the famous Si model. Just like in the previous generation, the new model will come exclusively in the sedan body style, while the high-performance Type R will come in a hatchback body style. The latest reports suggest that the launch date will be scheduled for the end of this year and that the new model will hit the market as the 2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan.

As you may presume, the upgrades over base versions will be numerous. Of course, there is a more powerful engine, while we also expect all kinds of mechanical upgrades, as well as on some unique styling details that will emphasize the model’s sporty character.

2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan Design

Naturally, the new 2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan will be based on the recently redesigned, 11th generation of the popular compact car. It will adopt all the changes that were introduced with this redesign, starting from the new styling, which brings a more mature approach compared to the previous generation. In this case, we will see a few more upgrades, starting from a decklid spoiler, unique wheels, color options and other parts.

Besides visual tweaks, we also expect to see a lot of mechanical upgrades. This particularly refers to the suspension setup, which will be stiffer and provide even better cornering. Furthermore, we expect to see new brakes, as well as a couple more chassis reinforcements.

All this should result in better driving characteristics, even though the base version already looks pretty impressive in this aspect.

Interior

From the inside, a couple of upgrades are expected too. We might see a few unique aesthetic solutions, along with new materials and exclusive color scheme. Of course, we might see upgraded seats, steering wheels and similar things.

The rest of the cabin will remain the same as in the base model, which is still a pretty good thing. The new Civic looks great from the inside, thanks to the great combination of retro aesthetics, modern tech features and great overall build quality.

The cabin is also very practical. This is one of the biggest models in the class, which offers two very spacious rows of seats, along with a quite decent trunk. The cargo space goes around 15 cubic feet, which is above average for the segment.

Features

Considering that this will be one of the more expensive versions of the car, we also expect to see a quite long list of standard features. We expect that the bigger 9-inch touchscreen will be standard, as well as the 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the list of standard equipment should include goodies like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, and an upgraded audio system. Things like proximity keyless entry, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and moonroof should also be on the list of standard features.

When it comes to safety, we expect that the new Civic Si will come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rearview camera etc. Things like front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert should remain optional.

2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan Engine

The engine has always been one of the most  exclusive parts of this version and the 2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan won’t be any different. Of course, we will see the same 1.5-liter turbo-four that is available in other variants as well but in this case, it will offer more power. The previous-generation Civic Si was good for about 205 horsepower, so we may presume that the new iteration will get 10-15 horses more.

Besides more power, the 2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan will feature one more big difference. Of course, we are talking about transmission, as this version is about to continue with the excellent 6-speed manual.

As you may presume, this won’t be the most capable Civic on the offer. The new iteration of the famous Type R is also expected and from what we know so far, we will see a notable power upgrade. The famous 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, will feature somewhere between 320 and 350 horsepower if we can trust latest reports.

2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Honda Civic Si Sedan will hit the market by the end of this or early in the next year. Honda already announced that the new version will start at 27.300 dollars, which is $2.300 more compared to the previous version.
