2024 Honda Accord Redesign: What We Know So Far

Even though we are entering the era of the automotive industry, some things simply refuse to change. While crossovers and electrified cars are taking over the market, some conventional models are still keeping their sales numbers at a super-high level. This includes the Accord too. The legendary mid-size sedan has been around for decades and it is still among the best-selling models in the class. The current generation has been around since 2018 and it looks like the Japanese manufacturer is preparing a complete redesign for the next year. Allegedly, the all-new 2024 Honda Accord will arrive sometime in the next year.

At this point, the officials are still quiet about the next-generation Accord but from what we can hear, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer will play on a safe card. We are about to see evolutionary changes only, which makes perfect sense if we consider that the current model is still amazing in so many aspects. However, some big changes will still come, particularly under the hood, where we expect to see some form of electrification one day.

The next Accord will be the eleventh generation of the legendary nameplate and from what we can hear, the company won’t bring many radical changes. Instead, Honda engineers will rely on proven design solutions a lot. So, what we expect to see is a familiar sedan layout, with a sleek design and a lot of sporty elements. Of course, we count on a completely new styling and, as we may all presume, a lot of inspiration will be taken from the new Civic, particularly at the front.

On the other hand, various reports suggest that the company is working on a new architecture for the next-generation Accord. Allegedly, we are about to see a platform that will allow the implementation of all kinds of new technologies. This would include the electrification, reports say.

Interior

While the styling is a relatively easy guess, the interior design is still a bit of a mystery. The current model still looks very good. It features an attractive dashboard design and good build quality. Also, there is a long list of standard and available tech features. So, what we expect from the next generation is further improvement in terms of aesthetics, with a simplistic and elegant approach. We also expect to see further improvements in terms of build quality, as well as new tech features.

One of the aspects where the current generation could have been done better is sound insulation, so we presume that Honda engineers will work on that as well. On the other hand, we don’t expect to see significant changes in terms of interior space, as the next generation is about to feature pretty similar dimensions.

2024 Honda Accord Engines

As we already mentioned, rumors suggest that the company prepares the terrain for electrification. Most likely, they will skip hybrids and go fully electric. That model would come with two electric motors, one on each axle, in a combination with GM’s Ultium battery technology. However, we are pretty sure that this version won’t be ready for the initial launch.

The initial models will continue with three familiar powertrain setups. Base models will continue with a familiar 1.5-liter turbo-four. It comes coupled with a CVT transmission and currently puts out 192 horsepower. A bigger and more capable 2.0-liter turbo-four will carry on as well. It currently features a max output of 252 horsepower and comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Finally, we presume that the hybrid version would carry on as well, though with some modifications and improvements. The current version combines a 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors, for a total output of 212 horsepower.

2024 Honda Accord Release Date and Price

It is still early to talk about a more precise date but we presume that the 2024 Honda Accord will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023. The current model starts at around 27.000 dollars and we don’t believe that the next-generation model will cost significantly more.
