2024 Honda CR-V Specs

2024 Honda CR-V Might Get All-Electric Version

The new generation of Honda’s best-seller is about to get a full redesign soon. The new generation was already presented and it should hit the market by the end of this year. Therefore, the 2024 Honda CR-V will represent the second production year of the new generation, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing novelties. Allegedly, the second production year could bring an all-electric version, which will join the already-confirmed gasoline and hybrid powertrain options.

Other than that, things won’t change. We are about to see all the novelties that are coming with the upcoming redesign. The new CR-V will get bigger and more comfortable, and it will also come with all kinds of new features. The 2024 Honda CR-V will continue in the same way, featuring one of the most versatile designs on the market.

Despite the potential all-electric version, we don’t expect that the launch date will be scheduled for any earlier than in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Honda CR-V Design

Design-wise, the 2024 Honda CR-V will be a typical carryover model. It will represent the second production year of the new generation, which will bring all kinds of interesting novelties. Compared to the outgoing model, the new one will feature a notably longer wheelbase and bigger overall dimensions. Once again, it will be based on the new, 11th generation Civic, so we expect to see all kinds of improvements regarding ride quality, comfort etc.

The Japanese manufacturer already presented the look of the new CR-V, so there’s no doubt that the 2024 Honda CR-V will continue in the same way. One of the things we’ve noticed first is the new front-end design, which features a more mature look than the previous generation. It looks a little bit more conventional but still very attractive, so we have no doubt that the styling will be liked by a wide range of buyers. Also, the overall shape feels a little bit sportier, mainly thanks to the longer hood design.

Interior

The same story is with interior design. The company already presented the new cabin’s look and we can see that things are pretty similar to the new Civic. The dash features the same design, with the same combination of retro and modern elements, which come in a combination with lots of modern tech features, including a 9-inch infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster and many more.

As we already mentioned, one of the biggest changes will be the size increase. So, the 2024 Honda CR-V will be generous enough to accommodate three rows of seats, which is still a rare thing among compact crossovers. Practically, the only two models with the third row are VW Tiguan and Mitsubishi Outlander.

2024 Honda CR-V Engines

Under the hood, we are about to see some familiar units. First of all, the well-known 1.5-liter turbo-four is expected to carry on in the same way. Even the output could remain the same, which is currently at 190 horsepower. The engine would come exclusively with a CVT.

On the other hand, the company promises a new hybrid powertrain. We think it will rather be an updated version of the current system, which is based on a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which gets help from two electric motors. The current version features a max output of 212 horsepower, while the new one should feature a little bit more power and better fuel efficiency.

All-Electric CR-V on the Way?

According to rumors, the biggest novelty for the second production year could be the all-electric version. If this happens, we presume that the all-electric 2024 Honda CR-V would come with the same or similar setup as the upcoming Prologue.

That would mean a lot of technologies borrowed from General Motors, particularly in terms of the Ultium battery technology, which would ensure some impressive battery charging speeds. On the other hand, it is still early to talk about the numbers and battery capacity.

2024 Honda CR-V Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Honda CR-V will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 28.000 dollars.
