2024 Honda Odyssey Sport

2024 Honda Odyssey Sport: Preview, Specs, Features

In the world of minivans, the Odyssey still holds one of the leading positions, thanks to its well-rounded design that brings so many strong points. Even though it’s been around since 2018, the current generation is still competitive in many aspects but if we consider the company’s typical production cycle, it looks like the redesign will come soon. According to the latest reports, the 2024 model year will be the last one of the generation. This refers to the 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport as well, which is one of the most popular trim levels on offer.

This is a mid-level trim, which offers a good balance between the price and the number of features. It is a well-equipped minivan, which offers a smooth and comfortable ride, lots of standard equipment, generous passenger space etc. Of course, we also like its capable and very refined V6 engine. As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Honda Odyssey Sport Design

As we are talking about the final production year, it’s hard to believe that bigger changes are about to occur. The 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport will continue with the same design, which has a lot of things in common with the Pilot. The two models share the platform and the chassis, so the ride is pretty similar as well, especially in terms of comfort. The Odyssey is comfortable and easy to drive, but it also offers a decent level of athleticism.

The current model still looks modern, despite the age. Also, this particular trim level comes with a couple of exclusive details, such as unique 19-inch alloy wheels and exclusive exterior trim. Still, most of the vehicle looks the same as other trim levels.

Interior

On the inside, one of the exclusive things about this trim level is the red ambient lighting. Other than that, things are much different compared to the rest of the lineup. The cabin looks attractive and, more importantly, it features very good overall quality. The materials are nice, and everything looks well-assembled.

Besides good build quality, the cabin is also very spacious. All three rows are spacious and accommodate adults with ease. They are also massive and supportive, while the driving position is very good and provides not just great visibility, but great ergonomics as well.

The cargo area offers 38.6 cubic feet behind the third row, 92.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 158 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. The only problem with the max volume is that you have to remove second-row seats to use it. On the other hand, the third row folds flat.

Features

As we’ve just mentioned, this is a mid-range trim level, which offers a lot of standard equipment at a reasonable price. The 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport will continue in the same way. Therefore, you may count on standard features like leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power liftgate, a moonroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and heated and power-adjustable front seats and Honda’s Magic Slide second-row seats.  The list of standard equipment also includes an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD Radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, a seven-speaker audio system, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start and 18-inch alloy wheels.

When it comes to safety features, you may count on goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, road-departure mitigation, automatic high-beam headlights and a rear-seat alert.

2024 Honda Odyssey Sport Engine

Under the hood, the 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport will continue with a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine, which puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty enough to ensure strong performance. The engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty good job.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the segment.

2024 Honda Odyssey Sport Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 42.000 dollars.
