2023 Honda Odyssey: Hybrid, Specs, and Redesign

Honda’s player in the minivan segment still has a lot to offer, which is no wonder, considering that the current generation has been around since 2018. Moreover, the 2021 update has brought a couple of interesting updates, including new styling and new standard features. All these things clearly indicate that the current generation of Honda’s practical minivan still has a couple of years before it receives a full overhaul. That’s why, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will come without more important upgrades.

Therefore, you may count of familiar characteristics from the next year’s model. There are so many things we like about it. It comes with a pretty capable and refined engine, while the handling is quite composed. Furthermore, there is a pretty long list of standard features, while the interior quality is probably the best in class.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Honda Odyssey Design

Considering the last year’s update, it’s easy to conclude that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will feature no bigger changes. We are about to see a familiar layout, which has been around since 2018. The chassis and the overall platform have much in common with the Pilot, so the ride quality is quite similar as well.

Of course, this model comes in a typical minivan layout, which makes it even more practical. The styling has been updated last year, and we can see novelties in several areas, particularly at the front. There, the Odyssey comes with new headlights, a new grille and several more upgrades. Considering all this, the best we could see from the 2023 Honda Odyssey are minor updates like new color options.

Interior

As you may presume, the interior is one of the strongest points of the vehicle. First of all, the build quality is quite impressive, while the materials are really fine. Furthermore, there is a long list of standard equipment that makes everything look even more impressive.

More importantly, this minivan is extremely spacious and practical. It comes with three very spacious rows of seats, which are all spacious enough to accommodate taller passengers with ease. Furthermore, the seats are massive and supportive, which really high level of comfort.

Finally, there is the cargo area, which offers around 38.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, up to 92.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and up to 158 cubic feet behind. The only trouble is that you have to physically remove the second row of seats to get these numbers. The second row folds down but doesn’t fold flat. On the other hand, the third row folds flat.

Features

We don’t believe that the 2023 Honda Odyssey could come with too many changes in this aspect. Most of the things are about to remain the same, which means that base models should come standard with goodies like a 5-inch infotainment display, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a seven-speaker stereo. Things like automatic climate control and push-button start will also be on the list of standard equipment.

When it comes to available upgrades, you may count on things like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, navigation, additional USB ports, an 11-speaker stereo, satellite radio, and HD Radio, as well as CabinControl, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, proximity keyless entry, and a moonroof.

Also, all models will come with a long list of safety features, which includes a rearview camera, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and the Honda Sensing suite, which bundles forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and road departure mitigation. Front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert are available as options.

2023 Honda Odyssey Engine

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. We are about to see the good-old, super-refined 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The engine ensures quick acceleration and a smooth ride, while the 10-speed automatic transmission works pretty well too.

Besides good performance and a high level of refinement, this engine also offers good fuel economy. You may count on about 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg. When properly equipped, this minivan can tow 3.500 pounds.

2023 Honda Odyssey Release Date and Price

No bigger changes also mean no early launch. In other words, the 2023 Honda Odyssey should arrive at a typical time of year, sometime in the last quarter of 2022. Bigger price changes aren’t expected either, so base versions should be available at around 33.000 dollars. The competition is tough and includes several capable models, such as Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, Kia Carnival etc.

    1. According to our information Odyssey is a standout for its comfortable ride, capable handling and well-executed tech features, but it does not offer a hybrid powertrain.
