2023 Honda Ridgeline: Redesign, Price, and Release Date

The market for mid-size pickup trucks became very hot in the last few years but the Ridgeline still stands out in terms of comfort and ride quality. Still, with compact, much cheaper, newcomers like Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick, it’s quite obvious that the 2023 Honda Ridgeline will need a couple of updates to remain the first choice of all those buyers who are looking for a unibody pickup. That’s why the next year’s model could bring a couple of interesting updates.

That doesn’t refer to the styling, considering that the 2021 model arrived with notable updates. Instead, the focus will be on the interior and we expect to see improvements regarding interior materials and standard features. Also, we can hear rumors about new, hybrid powertrain options. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the officials.

Despite the possible updates, we don’t believe that the 2023 Honda Ridgeline will arrive before the second half of 2022.

2023 Honda Ridgeline Redesign

Design-wise, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline definitely won’t bring changes. It will continue with the same styling, which has been updated last year. The new iteration brought a different front end, with a bolder and more prominent grille design, as well as more aggressive bumpers. So, the best thing we could see for the next year are minor tweaks like new color options, though a new appearance package doesn’t sound particularly unlikely either.

Mechanically, we definitely don’t expect to see changes. The 2023 Honda Ridgeline will continue with its well-known unibody layout, which brings a couple of benefits over traditional body-on-frame pickup trucks. This particularly refers to things like comfort and ride quality in general. Thanks to the unibody layout, the Ridgeline acts more like a crossover than a pickup. However, such a design brings a couple of weak points as well, especially in terms of the towing capacity, which goes up to 5.000 pounds. For comparison, models like Jeep Gladiator and Chevy Colorado can tow way over 7.500 pounds.

Interior

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline redesign won’t happen, but we might see some pretty interesting interior changes. Some sources speculate about interior changes, where we could see a couple of tweaks on the dashboard, as well as changes like new materials, new color schemes etc. A couple of new tech features sound possible too.

On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same. The Ridgeline comes in a crew cab layout only and it offers one of the most spacious cabins in the segment. As a result, there are two very spacious rows of seats, which accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, the front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is great.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible, so we might see some additions regarding new standard equipment. Still, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, remote start, keyless entry, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a seven-speaker stereo. Additionally, there are available upgrades like a moonroof, wireless device charging, navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, an eight-speaker stereo, two more USB ports, and an in-bed audio system.

The same thing is with safety systems. All models come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Also, there are a few upgrades on the offer, such as front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

2023 Honda Ridgeline Engines

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline is about to remain with the same 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This super-refined engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission and offers a pretty smooth ride, along with good driving dynamics. Furthermore, you may also count on pretty decent fuel economy. It goes up to 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Some sources speculate about the possible addition of a hybrid version. At this point, details are unavailable, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about the possible setup. We are pretty sure it won’t be based on a large V6 engine. Instead, it could easily come as a combination of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a couple of electric motors. The officials are still quiet on this matter, but we believe some details could come in the near future.

2023 Honda Ridgeline Release Date and Price

We expect to see 2023 Honda Ridgeline sometime in the second half of 2022. The starting price shouldn’t change too much, so base versions will probably go around 33.000 dollars. On the other hand, the most expensive variants could cost over 45.000 dollars.
