2024 Honda Fit Is Getting Mid-Cycle Update

The current generation of the legendary subcompact has been around since 2019 and although it still looks fresh and competitive, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer prepares some updates. It looks like we are about to see some changes for the 2024 Honda Fit. This should be a typical mid-cycle refresh, which will bring mostly changes in terms of aesthetics. However, some sources also suggest that the hybrid powertrain could get updates and upgrades.

From what we know so far, the updates will be presented in the domestic market, in Japan, while the other markets should receive the refreshed model soon after. Then, it will be followed by the European version of Fit, which is known as Honda Jazz.

We expect to see the 2024 Honda Fit sometime in the second half of the year.

2024 Honda Fit Design

So, the 2024 Honda Fit will get a mid-cycle update and we count on updates in various aspects. At this point, the officials are still managing to keep details a secret but we are pretty sure that the focus will be on visual updates. Moreover, we are pretty sure that the changes will be subtle and that there won’t be anything radical to come. We presume some revisions at the front could happen, in areas like the grille, headlights etc. Of course, updates in terms of new color options and wheel design.

On the other hand, we don’t believe that mechanical changes could happen. Instead, we count on the same layout, on a setup that provides pretty good ride quality. The ride is surprisingly smooth at higher speeds, whereas Fit acts like a much bigger car. The handling feels pretty engaging, and the steering also feels pretty direct.

Also, the company prepares a new trim level called RS, which will be characterized by a lot of sporty details. Some of the highlights will be goodies like a more aggressive grille and bumpers, larger intakes, red RS badges, deeper side sills, larger alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. Simply, the current cabin already looks pretty nice. It comes with a modern look and pretty nice materials. Still, some novelties will come, in the case of the aforementioned RS trim. That model will come with goodies like a leather steering wheel, new paddles, additional drive mode selector. All models will come standard with a decent amount of tech features, including a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch infotainment screen etc.

Despite the size, the amount of passenger space is also pretty decent. Both rows can accommodate adults pretty easily, while the front seats are also decently shaped and offer a decent level of comfort. The cargo area isn’t the biggest in the class, but rather average for the segment.

2024 Honda Fit Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, we expect to see upgrades in terms of the hybrid powertrain. Namely, the system will remain the same, based on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors. However, the current max output of 107 horsepower and 253Nm of torque will be increased to the same level as HR-V. In numbers, that would be 129 horsepower and 253Nm of torque. The course, this system comes in pair with a CVT.

The rest of the lineup shouldn’t change much. So, count on several pretty common engine options, starting from the 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol unit, which is available in two output variants, depending on the market. In China, this engine is tuned to 133 horsepower and 155Nm of torque, while in other markets it puts out around 120 horsepower and 145Nm of torque. Also, there is a smaller 1.3-liter engine for the domestic market, with a max output of 98 horses and 119 Nm of torque.
