2024 Honda Odyssey: Hybrid, Release Date, AWD, USA

Even though three-row SUVs are taking over the market, there is still a fine portion of sales for minivans. This segment refuses to dye and several carmakers still compete in this class. Of course, Honda is among them, with its legendary Odyssey. The current generation of this minivan has been around since 2018 and if we consider the company’s typical production cycles, the 2024 Honda Odyssey will probably be the final model year of the current generation. At this point, the officials are still quiet and we don’t know if there will be a successor or not.

In any case, we expect that the 2024 Honda Odyssey will come without more important changes. We count on a familiar design, on a minivan that still has a lot of great things to offer. The Odyssey is easy to drive and offers surprisingly good handling for a minivan. Furthermore, it features very good interior quality, while the amount of passenger and cargo space is very generous.

As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Honda Odyssey Design

As we’ve just mentioned, this should be the final production year of the generation. Therefore, we expect no bigger changes. The overall layout will remain the same, which means that you may count on a design that has a lot of things in common with models like the Honda Pilot. The Odyssey is surprisingly easy to drive, while the handling and overall athleticism are at a surprisingly high level. At the same time, the ride is smooth and quite comfortable.

In terms of the styling, we definitely don’t expect to see any bigger change. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates, such as new color options or even a new appearance package.

Interior

The same thing goes for interior design. We don’t expect to see any substantial change. So, the overall cabin layout will remain the same, with a design that brings great overall quality. The dashboard looks nice, while the materials are really fine. Most importantly, the build quality is pretty impressive and everything looks like it will last for decades.

Besides great quality, this cabin also offers plenty of space. All three rows are spacious enough to accommodate adults with ease. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the seats behind are as impressive. Also, the driving position is very good, whether it’s about visibility or ergonomics.

The cargo area offers around 38.6 cubic feet behind the third row, 92.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 158 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. To use the full cargo potential, you need to remove the second row, but you can also fold them and use a little bit less space. On the other hand, the third row folds flat.

Features

This aspect probably won’t bring bigger changes, though there is always room for smaller updates in this aspect. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like automatic climate control, push-button start, a 5-inch infotainment display, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a seven-speaker stereo. Additionally, you can get upgrades like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, navigation, additional USB ports, an 11-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, CabinControl, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, proximity keyless entry, and a moonroof.

When it comes to safety, the current model comes standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, automatic high beams, rear-seat alert etc. Optionally, you can get front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers etc.

2024 Honda Odyssey Engines

Under the hood, expect no surprises. The 2024 Honda Odyssey will continue with the good old 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. That’s plenty enough for strong driving dynamics and good overall performance. The engine comes coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty good job, both in terms of performance and refinement.

Besides strong performance, you may also count on pretty decent fuel economy. It goes around 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class. The max towing capacity goes around 3.500 pounds.

2024 Honda Odyssey Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Honda Odyssey will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 35.000 dollars.
